Gokyo Lake Trek

Gokyo Lake Trek includes the tour of Sagarmatha National park in its route. Sagarmatha National Park is the home to many of the unique floras and faunas. Heading through thick forests and witnessing some of the gorgeous valleys, you will have plenty of opportunities to take pictures with the stunning landscape that comes in our way. When we talk about the stunning landscape, we must not forget about the view of the marvelous Himalayan mountain ranges that Gokyo Lake Trek has to offer. Gokyo Lake Trek highlights the unobstructed views of many gigantic mountains like Mt Lhotse (8,516m), Mt. Makalu (8,463m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201m), and the highest mountain of them all Mt. Everest (8,848m). Tagging along with the Himalayas, Gokyo Lake Trek also features the beautiful Khumbu Icefall, glaciers, water streams, and waterfalls on its in-route. We will also come across ancient Buddhist monasteries and mix settlement of Nepali and Tibetan villages throughout the trek. Gokyo Lake Trek offers us an awe-inspiring panoramic of mountains which will definitely make our trekking memorable.

Outline Itinerary:

  • Day 01:Arrive in Kathmandu (1300 m)
  • Day 02:Kathmandu: Sightseeing and trek preparation
  • Day 03:Fly to Lukla (2,800 m), trek to Phakding (2,652 m): 3 - 4 hours
  • Day 04:Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m): 5 - 6 hours
  • Day 05:Namche Bazaar: acclimatization
  • Day 06:Namche Bazaar to Phorte Village (3810 m): 5 - 6 hours
  • Day 07:Phortse Village to Machharmo-(4,470 m): 5 - 6 hours
  • Day 08:Machharmo to Gokyo (4800 m): 5 - 6 hours
  • Day 09:Gokyo Valley: Climb Gokyo Ri (5357 m) and hike to fifth lakes: 5 - 6 hours
  • Day 10:Gokyo to Dole: 3 - 4 hours
  • Day 11:Dole to Namche Bazaar: 4 - 5 hours
  • Day 12:Namche Bazaar to Lukla: 6 - 8 hours.
  • Day 13:Fly to Kathmandu
  • Day 14:Final departure
